Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta The Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta is an exclusive special edition model limited to only 499 units worldwide. It was Engine of the Year for 3 years - 2011, 2012 and 2014. Ferrari's Formula One technology transfer played a critical role in the development of the 458 Speciale, including the use of advanced production processes and materials. The engine is manufactured in Ferrari's in-house foundry, using the same techniques and machinery as the Formula One team, to create complex components with extreme structural and dimensional characteristics that are required for a high-revving, naturally-aspirated engine capable of hitting 9,000 rpm. The front of the car features innovative aerodynamic solutions, including two vertical flaps in the center and a horizontal flap below them. At lower speeds, the vertical flaps are closed to channel air into the radiators to ensure optimal cooling for the engine.
